Ethan Hunt's beautiful shirt
in mission impossible rogue nation, tom cruise plays secret agent extraordinaire Ethan Hunt. Ethan breaks into an underwater data storage center to change out some ID stuff so Benji Dunn (played by simon pegg (wow both have double letters at the end of their last name cool)) can steal some sort of codes or data or something. in the process Ethan nearly drowns, but is resuscitated in a sewer alley of some sort. Benji has brought him a change of clothes so they can make their grand getaway (which goes wrong, but that's beyond the scope of this blog), and among the clothes is a beautiful, beautiful shirt. it's red and black and white and orange and has what looks a little bit like a snake skin pattern. is this Ethan's shirt? did Benji pick out this shirt? or maybe Ilsa? i wish i knew.
what i do know is that this shirt sold at auction for £2750 in 2017 (https://uk.propstoreauction.com/view-auctions/catalog/id/78/lot/18385/index.html) someone, somewhere owns the beautiful shirt. i hope they are treasuring it.
